Why Educational Content?
Educational content is invaluable for businesses because it builds trust and credibility.
Educational content is where I thrive. I love researching new topics and excel at translating complex concepts into clear and relatable messaging. I also love the opportunity to dive deep into businesses’ brand voice and create compelling copy that communicates directly with their target audience.
Learn More About Me
I grew up in the lower mainland of BC and have always felt incredibly lucky to live in such a beautiful place.
Growing up, I was a classic gifted kid who thrived in traditional academics despite my sometimes interesting approach to studying. While I initially started university as a pre-med student (that didn't last long), English was always my favourite subject.
As an elementary student, I read several grades above my reading level. If my nose wasn't buried in a book, you could find me working on my latest writing project (I'd written 20,000 words on a novel before I finished the 7th grade), drawing, or outside running around. Yes, I was an athlete as well as a nerd.
I graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, which I quickly followed up with a Bachelor's in Social Work because I realized I wasn't qualified to do much of anything. I have worked in a number of roles adjacent to Social Work, and while I always felt I was doing good for the community, I always felt called back to writing.
During my 20s, I invested much of my creative writing in spoken word poetry. I competed nationally at the Canadian Festival of Spoken Word (CFWS) and as a part of the Canadian Individual Poetry Slam Competition (CIPS). I also headlined a poetry tour in the PNW in 2018 and have three self-publish poetry chapbooks.
Today, my freelance writing career has allowed me to pursue my passion for words and harness my weird creative energy. I've had the opportunity to work with many clients worldwide and help them build greater connections with their audiences through educational content marketing.
In addition to words, I love the craft beer scene in Vancouver, and you'll find me on the patio sipping a beer no matter the season. I am also a big fan of regularly moving my body in a range of activities, from hiking, to power lifting, to yoga.
Whether you're looking for copywriting services or an aspiring writer looking to connect, I'd love to hear from you. Tell me about the latest project you're working on.
